Electrorack Launches CoVault™ Enclosures For The Colocation Market

Anaheim, CA – October 20, 2008 -- In today’s colocation facilities, flexibility and security aren’t options. They’re requirements.  Electrorack answers those requirements with the new CoVault™ line of enclosures – the most secure, robust enclosure solutions available for the colocation market.

“Our CoVault colocation cabinets are designed to securely house multiple tenants within the same footprint of a single rack,” said Todd Schneider, Electrorack’s Director of Marketing.  “In colocation environments, many tenants don’t require a full rack to house their equipment, however they expect a level of security to protect it from unauthorized access.  With CoVault, colocation providers now have a cost-effective method to maximize space utilization while providing their clients comfort in knowing their equipment is protected.”

Built on Electrorack’s successful Eclipse server enclosure platform, Electrorack’s engineers designed the CoVault multiple-compartment racks to gang to single-compartment Eclipse racks, allowing continuous rows of mixed-environment enclosures. With a multitude of locking options, from mechanical combination to electronic locks, unique locking for each compartment is provided.

Reversible cable ducts inside the rack provide secure, separate pathways for power and data lines through either the top or bottom compartment, supporting cable entry from overhead or under a raised floor. Additionally, Inter-bay Divider Panels provide thermal separation as well as security from the next rack. Optional removable cable ports in the Inter-bay panels allow potential expansion of a given client – without having to remove all of their existing equipment.
